Women’s Football

History has been made!

For the first time in the history of deaf football, there’ll be a women’s football match. The WDevils will play against the WRebels for the Tanya Morgan Shield — named in honour of Tanya Morgan who initiated the whole thing.

This is an exciting chapter for deaf football which will no doubt add a bit of spice to the fierce rivalry between Victoria and the Southern Cross Rebels.

The WDevils will be captained by Emma Tuohey and coached by Mark Biljy.

Grand (Final) Weekend!

Grand (Final) Weekend!

We have an exciting development bubbling up in our labs. You’ve guessed right, we hope to put out an event on AFL Grand Final day (3 October 2015) for the community to come together and celebrate 50 years of Jolimont Deaf Football Club along with catching the spectacle that is AFL Grand Final!

Our sights are set on selling some food (sizzlin’ sausages, what else you’d expect on the Grand Final day!) and beverages (non-alcoholic and alcoholic). And more importantly, we are trying our best to collect and collate 50 years worth of JDFC/DFV memorabilia to be put on display for the day at said event.

We will be sure to post the event once we have locked into a location, on our Facebook page, give us a like to get notified and remain abreast of what’s coming out of our labs.

Be sure to keep your Grand Final day free!
